What Is It?

Tiki-Taka is a football tactical style characterized by short passing, high possession, and intricate player movement to control the ball and create scoring opportunities.

It's all about keeping the ball with lots of quick, short passes, moving around constantly to open up space and dominate the game.

Why Top Teams Use It

By maintaining prolonged possession and forcing opponents to chase, teams using Tiki-Taka aim to dictate the tempo of the match, conserve energy, and exploit defensive vulnerabilities as they emerge.

Two Ways to See It

Data Lens

A Data Lens would highlight exceptional possession percentages, a high number of successful short passes, and often a low Pass Per Defensive Action (PPDA) for the attacking team, indicating their opponents struggle to win the ball back. Expected Goals (xG) might show a higher conversion rate for shots taken from within the box, reflecting patiently worked chances.

Scout Lens

From a Scout Lens, the focus would be on player intelligence and technical prowess: exceptional first touch, spatial awareness to find pockets of space, and quick decision-making under pressure. Scouts would assess a player's ability to combine with teammates in tight areas and execute weight-perfect passes to maintain fluidity.
